I really enjoy the first monday of the month. That is the day of my Forget-Me-Not Card keeper class that I hold at the local pizza 'joint'. Yes, I get to eat great food but best of all I get to spend time with some of my favorite people. Other Stampers! We really have a good time creating and laughing and eating! All good things in my book!
This month I decided after creating all those birthday swaps of the punched sundae card that I saw in my Stampin' Sucess magazine last month (a benefit of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator) that I shared on my blog in September that I really love our punches and looking at them in a different way. So this month I told the gals that we were getting "Punchy"! Or maybe they thought I was just getting punchy I am not sure! But what I am sure of is I had a great time looking at my punches "outside the box" and showing the girls a different way to look at their punches. I am hoping they will never look at a Stampin' Up! punch the same way again!
Here is a sampling of the cards.
Aren't they cute? Of course you see the Sundae card. I changed it up a little for the class. Here is my new version. I already talked about it in a previous post so I won't go into detail here.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and from someone who had a little scare this time last year (after 2 biopsies it turned out to be nothing Praise God!) I wanted to challenge my girls to send the two cards they created to either a survivor or to a friend to remind them to have a mamogram! Yes, it's that important! So I created this lovely pink friend card.
We used 3 scallop oval punches for the skirt and a modified scallop circle punch for the bodice of our dress. The paper we used is the new Bride paper that we brayered with Regal Rose ink! It's just gorgeous! The shiny swirl on this paper resists the ink so it creates this beautiful look. We finished it off with a little bling (rhinestone brad) because all women no matter who love a little bling, admit it you do too!
So recreate this card and send it to a woman you LOVE and want to see around for a very long time.
Next I wanted to again do pumpkins since remember October SCREAMS pumpkins to me! I love them, always have as far as I can remember. So we used the wide oval punch and layered them to be a beautiful plump pumpkin in the midst of wandering vine which was created with the Baroque Motifs (113490) Swirly stamp again thinking outside the box. We finished off the card with the leaf from the new Autumn Days (115452)
Lastly I LOVE the new Ornament punch from the 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog but I wanted to give them a reason that they needed that punch NOW! And why YOU need it NOW. DO NOT wait until you are ready to make Christmas cards. This punch is SO much more! I have seen flowers, flower pots and even little elves faces. They are so cute! Here is my version of the Ornament punch as a flower pot.
We went conventional on the 5 petal punch but layered it to get a nice full flower. By the Way you can purchase the 5 petal punch along with the Trio flower punch and the My Way punch for a discount until Monday October 12th at 10:50am here! So don't wait!
Here is the low down on the cost of each punch along with the ordering number:
